In this edited version of the movie, many characters have been removed. The driver and the boy are no longer part of the story.
The movie now begins with Blake Lively's character surfing on a beach in Mexico, where she encounters a great white shark and faces some problems.
The introduction of the two surfers has been moved later in the movie and their roles have been reduced.
This version of the movie now focuses more on the intense struggle between the shark and the woman.
The background score has been enhanced with additional music by Mark Isham and David Julyan.
