THE LAST HALLOWEEN

Original Title: HALLOWEEN III - SEASON OF THE WITCH

RUNNING TIME: 75 minutes.

After completing Halloween - The Last Stand, I started working on a new project called The Last Halloween. 
Similar to Halloween - The Shape Returns, this project is from the mind of Zagadka, and we plan to add our own unique touch to the 1982 film Season of the Witch.
We've used a UHD 4K copy as the source and re-scored the film with music from Carpenter's Christine, Prince of Darkness, and others.

Zagadka: 

Our goal is to revisit Tommy Lee Wallace's Halloween III: Season of the Witch by re-introducing and re-editing the film to eliminate unnecessary areas that distract viewers from its strengths. 
We've removed hammy acting, bad special effects, comical parts that weren't at all funny, cringe-worthy scenes, and sloppy editing. 
We've also added new music and sound effects to create a scarier, more serious, and more sinister experience.

TARGET

Original Title: WATCHER

RUNNING TIME: 63 minutes.

Watcher is great, it reminds me of Carpenter's "Someone Is Watching Me" Brian de Palma's "Body Double" and it was fun to see the actress Maika Monroe again in this movie.
She was great in "It Follows" a movie I worked on years ago, a fan edit called The Following.
In this edited version of "Watcher", a considerable amount of dialogue was removed, as well as scenes featuring Monroe's female neighbor. 
Furthermore, the movie was given new scores by John Carpenter, Pino Donaggio, and Disasterpeace.

THE GRABBER

Original Title: THE BLACK PHONE

RUNNING TIME: 65 minutes.

The abduction of the boy and when he is locked up in the cellar with these phone conversations was a little too long. 
I trimmed all phone conversations, the boy Finney remembers everyone he has on the phone of the Crabber's previous victims, which was a little too much for me.
So in this edit, who is on the phone remains to be seen.

THE BETRAYAL

Brand New Cherry Flavor is an outstanding series with humor, bizarre elements, and special effects. 
The acting is also impressive, with Catherine Keener delivering an exceptional performance as the Witch, and Rosa Salazar and Eric Lange doing a fantastic job in their roles.
I edited eight episodes into one cut and added the usual re-scores. 
The edit was made in 2.40 widescreen and DTS surround audio.

THE CURSE

The edit of the movie includes flashbacks, nightmares, and scenes that are presented in a different order from the original.

THE ROAD TO REVENGE

Original Title: THE NIGHTINGALE

RUNNING TIME: 78 minutes.

I saw it a few weeks earlier, and I disliked the 4.3 ratio, so to begin with I changed that to 1.85.1 widescreen.
Strong acting, although the rape scenes are for me personally on a very low level so with sound effects, and flashbacks, I created a nightmarish effect to the violence in the movie.
Almost NO music in the original cut, so with a lot of my usual composers I made a whole different cut from what you see in the original.
The singing is cut by Aisling Franciosi and some weird stuff is also gone.

THE STRANGER

Original Title:  EYES OF A STRANGER
RUNNING TIME: 61 Minutes.

One of my favorites, a slasher from the '80s with brief makeup effects by Tom Savini.
Cut to 61 minutes, I removed some unbelievable crap, and Lauren Tewes her friend the lawyer is totally cut.
A remake, it was first released years ago in a double feature and that was from DVD, now this version is from Blu-ray.

THE CARETAKER

Original Title: THE BURNING

RUNNING TIME: 63 Minutes.

"The Burning" is one of my favorite movies. 
I think it's even better than "Friday the 13th," but I didn't like the burn accident involving the character Cropsy. 
The stuntman's fire suit was visible in the shot when Cropsy ran out of the cabin, so that part was cut from the final version. 
Instead, the burn accident is shown as a flashback in the edit. 
The music by Rick Wakeman was good, but it was messy in some scenes. 
I did some re-scoring with Tyler Bates' music and completely re-scored the killing of the hooker with different music.

THE WOMAN ON THE TRAIN

Original Title: THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN

RUNNING TIME: 84 minutes.

After our adventures with Hannibal and Jigsaw, this is the next one coming from the mind of ZAGADKA.
He asked me if I was interested in making this and although I know the movie I saw it a few weeks ago on the big projection screen to give me some reminder of how the original story is.
The man has great ideas, so let's do it.
Not really in my alley, BUT I like the movie and the actress Emily Blunt so I think we can make something special about this movie.

ZAGADKA: 

The aim is to tell the story from Rachel’s (Emily Blunt) perspective only.
Also, a few clunky bits of dialog and exposition ruined the atmosphere and mystery about the killer’s identity.
With a tighter running time and the removal of the cringeworthy scenes, there’s an actually good and dark thriller hidden under some melodramatic trash.

THE HEWITT FAMILY

RUNNING TIME: 126 MINUTES

A combined edition of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Beginning" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (2006-2003) 
It features a 2.40 widescreen format and DTS 7.1 audio. 
The edit includes black-and-white footage, re-scored music by Tyler Bates, and incorporates ideas from Zagadka. 
The Sister of Zagadka has created some beautiful covers for this edition.

TRASH MAN

Original Title: CLEAN

RUNNING TIME: 60 minutes.

Brody delivers a great performance in this movie.
In my interpretation, his character is similar to Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver, fed up with the negativity around him.
Due to some drug-related issues and concern for a black neighbor girl, he ends up in a violent confrontation with Fleshler and his friends. 
I really enjoyed it; the acting was superb, and I appreciated the filming locations.

TRAFFIC

Original Title: UNHINGED

RUNNING TIME: 58 minutes.

I watched the movie on Blu-ray and thought it was great. 
It reminded me of the movie "Duel" (1971). 
Both movies involve terrorizing someone in traffic, and it's more intense when the victims are a woman and a child. 
However, there were some unrealistic scenes in the original that I completely removed in my edit.
I cut out some of the killings, including the opening scene where Crowe murders his ex-wife and lover. 
In my version, I introduced Crowe later to make his character more mysterious. 
I also removed the scene where Crowe kills the woman's lawyer in a cafeteria. 
By cutting out these scenes and some unimportant dialogue, I made a 58-minute rollercoaster cut. 
The edit turned it into a road movie filled with action and terror. 
It features DTS sound 7.1, 2.40 widescreen, and embedded subtitles. 
I also added additional music by Charlie Clouser and Tomandandy.

This is an edited version of a true story involving a girl named Sylvia Likens. 
I added more intensity with music overdubs by Charlie Clouser and Colin Stetson. 
William Atherton's scenes have been completely removed from this edit.

This is a great French horror movie, but I edited out some slow parts and strange scenes. 
I also replaced some of the music. 
Overall, it's a twisted movie, and that's why I enjoyed it.

This is a trilogy of three two-in-one editions. 
SAW 2 is presented as a flashback within SAW 1. 
The concept was to create three two-in-one editions of the movies cut like a rollercoaster.

Scarface was originally almost 3 hours long, so I edited it down to 120 minutes. 
I also added some additional music by Eric Serra, Charlie Clouser, and Cliff Martinez. I enhanced the sound of the final shooting scene to make it more intense.

THE THREE MOTHERS

Original Title: SUSPIRIA  / MOTHER OF TEARS / INFERNO

RUNNING TIME: 151 minutes

This is a three-in-one edition. The edit opens with INFERNO, where the girl is reading the book "THE THREE MOTHERS." 
This book contains the first two stories, which are portrayed in Suspiria and Mother of Tears.

In Suspiria, I made some changes to the music, using alternative versions of Goblin and incorporating Thom Yorke's music (remake Suspiria soundtrack). 
The first two edits have been trimmed to almost one hour, and Suspiria includes a lot of sound effects, with some scenes in a different order. 
I removed a lot of illogical content, especially in Mother of Tears.

In my version, Inferno is the last story in this trilogy. 
After reading the book, the girl realizes that she lives in the house of one of the mothers. 
Inferno runs for about 50 minutes in this edit, with no unnecessary content about keys being found or the woman sending a letter to her brother. 
Instead, she calls him, and later he visits New York, where he has to deal with the disappearance of his sister.

Some scenes are re-scored with the music of 
Suspiria and Tenebrae were possible. 
All three versions are presented in a 2.40 ratio.

THE MUTATION

Original Title: THE SUBSTANCE

RUNNING TIME: 87 Minutes.

A streamlined edition of the movie. 
The special effects are fantastic, and the acting is excellent, but the film feels unnecessarily long. 
Some characters, such as an old friend of Moore's and her neighbor, have been completely cut. 
As usual, many music re-scores have been implemented, and some comedic scenes have been removed. 
Some irrelevant content has been edited out by the New Year's Eve show. 
Alternative music is provided by John Carpenter and others. 
The sound is in AC3-5.1

THE MASSACRE

Original Title: THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974)

RUNNING TIME: 52 minutes.

I've made a 52-minute version of the original movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" from 1974. 
I've added new music by Steve Jablonsky, Colin Stetson, and Thom Yorke, and also included sound effects. 
I've trimmed some unnecessary dialogue and removed Franklin's scenes. 
This version is in 2.40 ratio and has DTS-HD sound.

THE MERCEDES KILLER

Original Title: Mr. MERCEDES.

RUNNING TIME: Approx. 185 minutes.

In 2018, I edited a workprint of the first season of "Mr. Mercedes." 
This workprint was divided into two parts, with a total running time of approximately three hours. 
I removed the lengthy conversations between Bill Hodges and his neighbor, and I completely cut out Brady Hartsfield's little brother. 
For the flashbacks in the workprint, I chose to present them in black and white. 
In 2020, I merged both parts into a single film. 
Originally, the project consisted of 10 episodes, which I edited into one cohesive piece. 
Recently, I decided to revisit the edit for a 4K upgrade. The 4K restoration was carried out using Topaz software. 
For this version, I updated the credits and transformed the black and white flashbacks into full color. 
The edit features a significant amount of music by Charlie Clouser, particularly selections from the "SAW" soundtrack. 
Notably, the opening massacre involving the Mercedes is presented in its entirety, which wasn't the case in some previous prints. 
The source for the 4K restoration was a Blu-ray, which was then enhanced with Topaz to achieve the highest possible quality. 
Additionally, the sound has been upgraded to 7.1 surround sound.
There are two parts available for download, totaling approximately 90/95 minutes.

THE LIVING DEAD

Original Title: DIARY / DAWN / DAY OF THE DEAD.

RUNNING TIME: 125 MINUTES.

This edit combines Diary of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead into one movie. 
Diary of the Dead sets the stage for the zombie virus, while Dawn and Day of the Dead continue the story, culminating in a world overrun by zombies. 
I particularly enjoy the European version of Dawn of the Dead due to the Argento/Goblin soundtrack. 
This edit is a tribute to George A. Romero.

THE GRIM REAPER

Original Title: DEATH WISH (2018)

RUNNING TIME: 69 minutes.

In this version, Kersey's brother is completely cut from the film. 
The assault on Kersey's family is portrayed as a random attack in this edit, leading to changes in the storyline. 
The media coverage surrounding The Grim Reaper is reduced, and some melodramatic scenes are removed. 
The music by Jimmy Page from "Death Wish 2" (1982) and Jay Chattaway from "Maniac" (1980) is featured in this cut.

THE LAMENT BOX

Original Title: HELLRAISER / HELLBOUND - HELLRAISER II

RUNNING TIME: 119 minutes.

I've made a complete re-edition of the earlier edit THE BOX. 
The first Hellraiser had a grainy quality, and the second Hellbound was damaged from the Blu-ray source. 
After receiving a mail from Zagadka with ideas and suggestions to re-cut the project from a better Blu-ray source, I decided to do this to improve the quality. 
There are some slight changes here and there, but overall, we have the same edit in much better quality, and this edit will replace the earlier one. 
The remake is taken from brand new German Blu-rays (with English language) and the quality is outstanding.

THE FOLLOWING

Original Title: IT FOLLOWS

RUNNING TIME: 66 minutes.

The opening in this edit is completely re-scored and also the use of sound effects is done. 
About 70% is overdubbed and re-scored with the music of John Carpenter.
It Follows was something new in the horror genre and I saw the possibility to use the music of Carpenter in a lot of scenes.
