Original Title: SAW X
RUNNING TIME: 116 minutes.
After Jigsaw: A History of Desperation and Jigsaw II: Endgame, which we did some years ago, Zagadka returned a few weeks ago with the script of the last SAW X movie.
After being out of circulation for a while, I was thrilled to hear from him again and to see that he brought a great script for this film.
This script is an extended edition with the necessary changes made.
Zagadka:
It’s a re-edited and extended version of Kevin Greutert’s Saw X (2023) – one of the best and most profound entries in this disturbing franchise about the value of life and hinged morality.
Deepen the story by bringing back the most vital deleted material that expands the lore, fleshes out the characters’ arcs, and challenges Jigsaw’s morality in a fresh way.
The scenes included:
16: John consults with William;
41: Gabriela makes breakfast;
89: Wake up in the main test (only two scenes);
100: That’s not how we do things;
107: Parker unchained, John Wayne Gacy and
141: Cecilia escapes.
Make Cecilia and Parker less cartoonishly evil and more fleshed out, so that she’s a balanced counterpart for John’s philosophy and his hypocrisy.
Remove a number of mistakes, cringeworthy scenes, and corny lines.
Trim the excessive gore.
Improve the clunky pace in the 2nd act of the movie.
